How a Dentist do Root Canal Treatment

As the name says, “Root canal treatment,” it is treatment of roots of a teeth. Each teeth have roots depending upon its position in mouth, number of roots varies in number, for e.g Molars have three roots and incisors have one root. So each roots have canal inside them which carries (pulp) nerves and blood supply to teeth.

So when one’s teeth gets so much affected with the caries that it started affecting the pulpal part of teeth leads to irritate nerves in the teeth, it causes unbearable pain to patients and sometimes swelling also due to the abscess below the tooth.

In such conditions we have to perform root canal treatment, where we remove all pulpal content of roots of teeth cleaning and shaping of canal) , and filled it with dental materials.

As after removing pulp part , teeth become dead because of which teeth become brittle in nature and that can leads to fracture of teeth because of masticatory forces. So to protect teeth from fracture we have to give crown (cap).

Main advantage of root canal treatment is that now you don’t have to remove your teeth like olden times which leads to many more problem that I have mention in my previous blog(missing tooth replacement), NOW we can save it, and you can continue your life like before.
